I'm back in the hospital -- the small local one -- for mystery abdominal pains, which commenced around 7 a.m. I'm to spend the night here for IV fluids and "management" of pain, whose cause remains a post-CT scan mystery. If the pain fails to diminish by tomorrow, I'll likely be transferred to the big boys' hospital. I'm betting on diminishment. So for now I'll just say, See you soon.
Friday night update: No more mystery, or so I'm told. The diagnosis is a bowel obstruction without question and perhaps an accompanying infection. So I'm being transferred straightaway. I'm further told there are three treatments for obstruction, although the last, it seems, is no longer used: "bowel rest," surgery, or mass voter turnout. Next up to treat is that pus-filled infection with an orange rodent on top, made possible by the aforementioned apathy, disuse, and neglect.
