The immediate question is how Trump — whose sole executive contribution to reopening government was to type out cretinous, irrelevant tweets with his little executive fingers — will manage to take credit for the Senate's bipartisan resolution of the government shutdown.
The longer term question is, Will there be a House resolution on DACA? After reading this Politico article, I'd say the answer to that is looking rather bleak.
While Majority Leader Mitch McConnell appeared agreeable to a Senate roll call, Ryan wouldn’t promise that the House would follow suit.
"Paul Ryan basically said, 'You can’t bind me' with what comes out of [the Senate]," said Sen. Chris Coons…. [And Leader McConnell has] made a promise that said nothing of an accompanying House vote. "I have no confidence, zero, in Paul Ryan bringing that bill to the floor," said Sen. Richard Blumenthal.
Sorry to be such a party pooper on this day of warm, senatorial comity.
