Good grief. Bullet points from WaPo's story on Trump's departure for the G-7.
*Trump … said Russia should be readmitted to the Group of Seven leading economies.
*[Trump's] suggestion could further divide the [G-7] group and make it even more ineffectual.
*Trump … also reiterated his plans to take a tough stance on trade with U.S. allies.
*Trump … on Saturday … will pull him[self] out of discussions on climate change.
*The Kremlin has appeared to enjoy an "I told you so" moment as it watches Trump’s escalating conflict with America’s closest allies. Putin has long spoken about the dangers of a world dominated by the United States.
Trump added, "I have been Russia’s worst nightmare."
The vaster insult was that Trump suggested Russia's re-admission (which the Kremlin said it didn't much care about) to a group of Western European countries whose electoral systems have been repeatedly sabotaged by Putin's dark forces. The effrontery, the sheer impudence of this little man and giant ignoramus remain breathtaking only because his twisted audacity seems to double in magnitude each week.
