What further confirmation that the Republicans are Hillary's chief supporters for president than having Fox News' Rupert Murdock give a fund raiser for Senator Clinton? Aren't the reasons for this obvious?

I absolutely agree with you. I think that the Hillary, Hillary, Hillary in 2008 is actually being floated and kept alive by the Republicans and their MSM. She is their dream candidate, and, I think, unelectable. I would give her my vote, but I would not vote FOR her. I read yesterday that Rupert Murdoch is hosting a fundraiser for her. If that is true, what else needs to be said?

We all laugh/hate at bush the religious idiot -as all religious humans should be labeled NO EXCEPTION- but remember another religious zealot: tippppeyyyy ... gore of her last name ... need I say mo'?!

Ilike Fiengold he stands alone most of the time.I like Hillery but I don`t care for her not coming out against the war.Would we get two for the one vote? Nice to have Bill back to get America back the way it should be.

If Al Gore got divorced, I could vote for him with a clean conscience. But those of us who remember and were disgusted by Tipper's PMRC antics don't want her anywhere near the White House. Plus, Al Gore would be second only to Hillary in getting out the Republican voters who might otherwise stay home in quiet disgust - the way I stayed home in quiet disgust back in 2000. In retrospect, a mistake, but I just couldn't bear the thought of First Lady Tipper, and I foolishly thought that Bush would never win - I was right and wrong at the same time. Tipper probably cost Al Gore more votes than Ralph Nader did. Seriously.

Rhythm-X Surely you jest - and what the hell is PMRC?

Nevermind Rhythm-X, I figured it out. Tipper has every right to speak her heart & mind about anything she wants just like all Americans, including RNC trolls. LOL!

Because there was no room on the front, Hillary AND Al BOTH rode Bill's coattails to the ignominious result of adulterous codependency. For a woman of true courage, competence and caring, try Michigan's Granholm, instead.

RX - Would you rather have Columba Bush as first lady? Or that creature Frist's wife? Don't you dare stay home in quiet disgust in 2008.

Anyone who would hesitate to vote for Al Gore because of some silly cause that his wife once championed needs to take stock of himself/herself. Emphasizing such minor perceived deficiencies of a good candidate is exactly what got Bush elected in the first place (that and the Supreme Court coup) and is exactly what the Republican Party and the corporate media hope voters will do in large numbers.

C'mon people, keep your eye on what is truly important, and don't let yourselves be distracted by trivial crap.

I think Feingold is a real breath of fresh air. Independent, truth telling, genuine, smart, articulate and understandably suspicious of the Dem Party's tried-and-true suicidal tendencies. I'm ready to write a check any time to support this man. And I think it behooves the Democratic Party to put someone totally new out there, like Feingold or Governor Richardson (a good guy too) rather than sticking with the same loser philosophy and potential candidates that have helped get us where we are today--in the crapper! I'm ready for someone with brass balls to get out there and fight for me! (Oh, that's Stephen Colbert...)

Hillary is going to get the Dem nod in 2008. She is awful. This year's election is far far far more important than 2008. If the Dems take just the House, the Bush/Clinton neo-con wing will be in trouble.
Make sure you vote and work for Dems in 2006 -- this year is the MOST improtant election since Roosevelt's win in 1932.
The media will be running down every Dem in a tight race and when they do, we should take the day off work and picket the newspaper or the tv station and run botcotts against their advertisers.
2006 is the election, not 2008. If Hillary wins in 2008, at least her neo-con friends will have a fight on their hands with a Dem congress, most of whom are fairly liberal and will muck of the works for empty Hillary and her corporate fat cat Republican pro war friends.
2006 people, 2006 2006 2006 2006 2006 2006 2006!

It's the MSM who is pushing Clinton, not the voters.

Every time I see a poll for Democratic presidential candidates, Clinton never finishes at the top.

Now that Clinton has accepted an offer from Murdoch to host a fund raiser for her, and after she has praised Bush in public, most Democrats are wondering how she is any different than Joe Lieberman, other than the fact that she is a woman.

Clinton won't come close to becoming the Democratic candidate for President in 08.

If they can't stand up to someone with an approval rating in the low 30's, the Dems will never have the spine to do anything.

As for 2008, Hillary will go the way of Joementum. I dearly hope so. She would likely be the worst thing that could happen to the Democrats in 08.

Nobody should be surprised by Sen. Hillary Clinton's hypocrisy!
When her husband Bill starting hanging out with Bush Senior, their embrace of the "Dark Side"
began in earnest! Hillary before she married Bill was a Republican, so she has returned to her roots! She is for the continued occupation of Iraq; she supports an attack on Iran; she slathers support for Israel, and believes their wall is cool, while doing nothing to secure the Mexican border; and she basically defends the Bush Regime now!

I would like to see more attention paid to Wesley Clark. There's a winner. Kudos to Russ Feingold for his vocal espousal of principled stances, but Wesley Clark can win. Hillary's support of Bush's horsebleep shenanigans will see this anti-war democrat voting Green if she ends up with the nomination. (At least the Green Party has already come out for Impeachment and Withdrawal.)

Al Gore is the winner, then, as now. His for the asking should he run. The noble and one time elected President deserves no less from his fellow citizens. It is also the least we can do to ensure permanent censure of the Bush/Cheney criminal cartel.

Our last great chance to transcend the darkest period in American history and move on.

Yep, its the Republican moles in the MSM: Chris Matthews will not entertain any name but Hillary's as a potential Democratic candidate in 2008.

She is poison for America - even worse than the far-right wing. They merely oppose the left, and we can easilly beat them in an honest contest of ideas: a Clinton candidacy would totally abolish the existence of a real left in the public's political consciousness, as she cozies up to venal coreporations as greedilly as any "compassionate conservative.

Don't let your freinds support Clinton!

Al Gore. Think of what you could have had! This guy is brilliant. The time is right to pull away the curtain in front of the MSM and expose them to the American people for what they are. Gore can do that, and do it with great humor.

Where was Feingold in 2000 when Bush was stealing that election? Feingold hid in his cushy, ivory Washington tower along with the rest of the don't fight back democrats while Bush stole Al Gore's victory. Now Feingold is personaly trying to profit from his failure to act in 2000. Feingold's behavior is hypocrisy at its worst. Al Gore is the only choice for 2008. He's the rightful winner of the 2000 election and he's the only democrat who's really and consistantly stood up to Bush the thief.

I am glad that Sen. Clinton has some articulate Democratic opposition.

If you can't vote in New York, at least send a buck!

RE: the remark that Gore was the "rightful" winner in 2000: Bush Won, Get Over It, Lefty!
Bush has won TWO elections now. Personally I hope that national elections are suspended in 2008 so that he can continue to govern us. He is a Christian man, and will bring about Christ's return and the reign of one thousand years of peace and profit. It will then be at His side that Bush will sit for eternity--the father, the son, the holy spirit, and the Adopted Son, as we will come to think of him--and then we won't have to worry about ridiculous earthly matters such as executions and elections. Everyone now against Bush will roast in hell alongside the rest of the criminals. To be against Bush is to be against GOD! The people executed in Texas were, to a person, sinners who deserved to die. Bush's ability to see and vanguish evil made this miracle possible. You nutjobs don't realize this because you're probably too busy doing lefty, Godless things like smoking rabbit tobacco and picking wildflowers and meditating. Get a clue!

Granholm may be competent, smart, articulate, and photogenic, but she's Canadian-born and thus could never be President.

Too bad for us. I'd love to see her in a Democratic Cabinet.

Budd, that you're even entertaining the suspension of a national presidential election says to me that you're totally unAmerican and anti-democracy. What the hell are we fighting for over there if we're willing to give up our right to vote and practice democracy here? And no, Bush did not "win" in 2000 and 2004--both elections were stolen and there is plenty of hard evidence to prove it, though I doubt you'll bother to look at the (rather inconvenient) facts.

Also, anyone who thinks Bush is an actual Christian is delusional. Name one Christ-like thing he's done. Does he care for the poor? No. Certainly not if this week's tax cuts are any example. Does he turn the other cheek? NEVER. Does he pursue peace? Not yet. Remember "thou shalt not kill" ? That means you, me, Bush, and everyone else. Anyone willing to pull the plug on any human life is playing God and that's wrong. The Bible told me so.

Your God and Christ are not the ones that I, and many other practicing Christians know--my Christ is loving, peaceful, forgiving, generous, selfless and kind. Bush is none of these things. In fact, he and Cheney are the faces of the anti-Christ as far as I can see.
