There is one important issue here that we need to recognize, however: there is only one GW Bush, but there are more than 200 Democratic members of the House and Senate. They don't all agree. Reid and Pelosi might both want to cut off funding, but that doesn't mean they can do it, no matter how strong, resolute, and courageous they may be.

My daughter said before elections: Mom, I think you're voting for same s**t, different color...

I am beginning to see her wisdom.

If I don't see impeachment back on the table, if I don't see those I voted for do the walk after they talked the talk - not only I will not vote Dem EVER again. I will start working actively on everyone I know to vote for someone else too. After all, we are the employers of those bums. They're not princes, not royalties, not nobles, not bluebloods. They are just our employees. We the People should have more power over our employees, shouldn't we?

Maybe, if we don't see the desired results anytime soon, we should start filing recall petitions in record numbers?

They are all afraid that their actions will get them thrown out of office...

I would love to see the Democratic Party stand up and do the right thing. Whether that be cutoff funding, hearings, impeachment or what ever it takes to stop the destruction of the United States... That way, after the next elections, those of us who do love true freedom and truly care about our fellow man will know if America stands with us or against us…

We no longer are a shining star in the world... The republicans (lower case r intended!) want to turn the US into a corporate fascist state run by theocrats monitored by "Big Brother".

I hope Carpenter is wrong, but the last six years have provided a lot of evidence to back up her point.

I hope we are just experiencing the last breath of denial before Bush finally goes down. I've seen things change fast in Washington DC, and it always looks like not change will occure up till the last second before it actually does. I can count on this new Congress to at least investigate where the previous Congress we all fired just turned a blind eye. No way can an administration this obsessed with secrecy come out of Congressional investigations still smelling acceptable. There will be revelations sure to enrage the American people once they get a wiff of the stench. This will get issues like Impeachment back on the table. I think America is about to get a mirror held up to it and we are not going to like what we see, but let's all look intently.

This is how I vote: for the other guy. Every time. Every election.
One term for any politician is enough. If we voted this way every time they would finally realize they work for us. No need for campaign finance reform. No need for lobbying laws.

Don't waste your vote on Independent candidates as a "protest." I hate it when I hear people say the system is broken. The "system" i.e. democracy, works just fine thank you very much. It's us that have broken down.

And the only thing they understand is their wallet. That is fairly easily mended. Shop locally. Buy only what you need, buy used. Stop buying from corporations. Shop your local markets, local farmers, local hardware store, local lumber yard, etc. Demand they buy American products. Expect to spend more. If nothing else, shop American on the internet. It's called sacrifice and we are going to have to do it if we intend to save ourselves and the rest of the world from this monstrousness. "Want change? Keep it in your pocket. Your dollar is your vote." If voting changed things it would be illegal.

Democrats will not do anything. Unfortunately it took segregationist Governor Wallace to reveal the truth that "there's not a dime's worth of difference between" Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats willingly went along with the War in Iraq, suspension of Habeas Corpus, detaining protesters, banning books like "America Deceived' from Amazon, stealing private lands (Kelo decision), warrant-less wiretapping and refusing to investigate 9/11 properly. They are both guilty of treason. Look at the bright side, when we have to vote the Democrats out, we'll have no choice but to vote for a Third Party.
Support indy media.
Last link (before Google Books bends to gov't Will and drops the title):

Where is the Republican corollary to Lie berman? some more level headed Republican must put the Nation's Safety ahead of his party loyalty and join with the Democrats, innoculating them from the Back-Stab acusations that the Roves and Drudges are sure to sling.
Didn't I see a headline about Trent Lott? That would be a shock, wouldntit?
January 25 thru 27th there will be increasing action in Washington DC calling out a million people into the streets, get there by all means if you can. If not make noise in your town. Lobby your Reps whenever they are back in the home district, let them know that we mean to end this bloody fiasco, one way or another, if they won't do it, they're out next.

When will people broach the fact that 9/11 was an inside job?

Please watch "Loose Change" free on Google video for overwhelming proof of gov't complicity in 9/11.

Truth:, regardless of whether it was inside or outside, the deed was done because it was profitable and because we are consuming the world in order to obtain a lot of crap we don't need. If it was the oil men, to start an occupation to raise the price of Saudi oil, then they did it because we buy that oil. If it was Bin Laden, who also did it to raise the price of oil (attempting to bankrupt the U.S.), then it was also because WE BUY THE OIL to fill up cars to drive to jobs to advertise and sell crap that nobody needs.
It's all about the crap we don't need, and the cheap prices we demand to pay.
