From the NY Times: "Republican lawmakers ... said they were determined to chip away at the [new health-care] law if they could not dismantle it."
And that's when the fun could begin. All those who believe that tea partiers will be willing to calmly, patiently, rationally listen to GOP excuses as to why its new Congressional majorities or larger presence can't repeal or fatally cripple the new law, raise your hands.
Such a legislative failure could be the point at which much of the grassroots movement would splinter off into third-party obscurity in the grossly mistaken belief that, denied by the GOP, "The People" are nevertheless with them.
The only question then remaining: Will the devolution be televised?
