This is classic GOP double-talk of the party's classic responsibility-shirking, reported by Politico with classic and damn near laughable journalistic neutrality in its story, "Boehner: no deadline for a health reform alternative":
"I don’t know that we need artificial deadlines set up for the committees to act" on developing a GOP alternative healthcare bill to the perfectly good healthcare bill already in place, said Speaker Boehner yesterday.
In other words -- words that could have been clearly, and even fairly, written by Politico -- Boehner hasn't the vaguest notion as to what the GOP alternative is, because there isn't one, never has been, nor will there be. So why the hurry to nowhere?
