The chances of any bill emerging from [conference] wouldn’t be great, especially since Democrats are already prepared to blame failure on recalcitrant Republicans. Indeed, many are hoping to do just that.
I almost pity the writers at National Review. They understand the GOP should be moving left on immigration, rather than the Democrats right, but they're saddled with majority buffoons in the House, just as those buffoons are saddled by majority buffoons in primaries. There's no way out.
Definitely all the more reason fro the administration to keep pushing for it. You have to create the noose they put around their own necks.
