If there isn't a Gresham's Law for politics there ought to be. Surveying the Republican field as it now stands and considering the last herd of candidates who, on the right, cannot legitimately say I'm as good as any of those other clowns. The inescapable truth is that Romney was the best candidate they had to offer last time out. And probably the best they could have fielded this time round. I know that's not saying much but bad politicians clearly drive out good politicians.
