No post this morning, perhaps later. I'm presently occupied with impersonating Kirk Douglas's consumptive Doc Holliday in Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. It's an easy impersonation, given that I've been doing it, off and on, for nearly two bloody months. The last few days have been particularly egregious. I'm trying to avoid another hospitalization; a generous lady friend is here nursing me, and today it's copious bedrest and as little expended energy as possible. See you later. This plague can't last forever.

Note: Just to show you the dangers of a high fever, mine convinced me momentarily that I actually read this in the NY Times:
The Trump administration defended on Sunday a reorganization of the National Security Council that elevates the president’s chief strategist, Stephen K. Bannon — a political adviser with no direct national security role — to full membership and downgrades the director of national intelligence and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff….
Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, said Sunday that Mr. Bannon’s past service as a Navy officer merited his attendance at all meetings…. He did not explain the downgrading of the four-star general.
Ha! Not even the Trump administration is that dumb. This can't be for real. I must have imagined it in my fog of a raging fever.
