Any deaths of children or others at the Border are strictly the fault of the Democrats and their pathetic immigration policies that allow people to make the long trek thinking they can enter our country illegally. They can’t. If we had a Wall, they wouldn’t even try! The two.....

...children in question were very sick before they were given over to Border Patrol. The father of the young girl said it was not their fault, he hadn’t given her water in days. Border Patrol needs the Wall and it will all end. They are working so hard & getting so little credit!

No sorrow, no regrets, no comforting words for the parents of the dead children. Just an unfeeling, grotesque attack on Democrats and "their pathetic immigration policies" (under which no children died).
The more rational blocs of the internet are saying that with this cold-hearted tweet, Trump has demonstrated a new and inhuman low. I'm not so sure. He has never exhibited any of humanity's higher traits; his 72 years on earth have been wretchedly defined by nothing but swindling, money-grubbing, publicity-whoring, finger-pointing, beastliness and pettiness. He is a narcissistic creature of the sociopathic dark, he thrives on whatever is sinister, he is virtue-intolerant, and the best he deserves is universal neglect by polite society.
Trump's followers possess roughly the same wrong stuff to unrecommend them. Whenever another Trumpian monstrosity is revealed, such as the negligent deaths of the two migrant children, his fans' defensive programming is set to what-aboutism: in this case, What about Obama? Here's a representative tweet sent by one of those fans the day after Christmas — a shrewish vulgarian who self-identifies as a "Police Wife, Air Force mom" and "Christ follower":
I’m honestly baffled where the outrage was when 18 children died under the @BarackObama administration??? https://t.co/yrgBR3NDjw

This is how they console themselves. And if there were some truth in it, the aggressive defense might even have some relevant merit. But, according to Snopes.com, the online fact-checker of solid renown, there exists "no documentation supporting the claim that any migrant children, much less 18 of them, died while in the custody of the U.S. Border Patrol during the administration of President Barack Obama." Nevertheless, it's on the internet — and it's anti-Obama — so they believe it.
How does one conclude a post on the miserable existence of Donald J. Trump? That can't be done, really, because his miserable existence hasn't yet concluded.
