I'm glad you listened to your daughter. Your health comes first and we can't lose you now. You're needed now more than ever. But if the time should come when you don't feel you can do this anymore, I will understand. You are an inspiration and I'm wishing you a full and speedy recovery.

I second Anne and am glad you listen to Ellie. Please keep listening to your daughter.

"That's right de woman is uh smarter (than da man in every way)". -- Harry Belafonte

Amen. It's women like Ellie who will save the world.

You have a wonderful daughter PM. You're pretty great yourself. See you when you're better

Please keep listening to Ellie! We will be here when you return!

Take care; take it easy; listen to Ellie. As you noted a few weeks ago, she's smarter than you, so perhaps you should. ;-)

I can’t leave you alone for one minute can I without you going off and having a life threatening event? Mind you, I do admire the insouciance with which you treat these events. What interesting fresh hell can be next? Thank goodness for Ellie.

Glad you got that taken care of. Get better soon! Thanks, Ellie.

I wonder if Ellie is aware of the outpouring of affection here.

Hope all is well now. We will be here when you return.

Thanks, everyone, for the good wishes and sound advice. And yes, Max, Ellie is aware of all the affection; she's just too embarrassed to reply.

Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery

Congrats for being sprung, and Ellie has no need to reply, just to know how much affection for her that we all have.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and expressing my gratitude and affection to Ellie. Never has a father had such a wise and caring daughter. Love to you both❤

Ellie, you're a lurker just like my daughter Essie who keeps tabs on things. She has no intention of saying anything either...but she does occasionally correct my grammar which is slightly beyond the pale. Even worse, last week, or fairly recently, she told me when I wrote "pressurised", that "pressured" was more appropriate "unless you're talking fizzy drinks". The ancient Oxford Dictionary which is in my possession says otherwise but it's an English thing and probably behind the times. Never mind, she's off to Europe next Sunday for a long holiday all on her own. (Actually, five weeks with a lot of young people in a tour group). I'll still not breathe until she's back home.

Not wishing to make this about me but just to draw a parallel...I smashed my ankle to smithereens last year. Essie trekked up here every weekend to look after me and push me around in a wheel chair. She says that the best bit was telling me "Just do as you're told" as she put me into the shower. I think it's called pay-back and it's on it's way to all us lucky ones who have someone who cares. Get better PM. There is nothing that you need to do to keep us all onside. Now, go to sleep.

Getting old ain’t for sissies. Still , it beats the alternative. Prayers for health.

Good news! One step at a time.

You could have had waaaay more fun and much better food for a lot less money in the Presidential Suite of the Rome Hilton. You need a better travel agent!
