I was too distraught to say much of anything throughout Mueller's dreadful performance this morning. I limited my remarks to the following, brief observation in the previous post's comment section:
"It seems to me that Mueller is hurting himself. I expected him to be more articulate in defense of his office's work. Instead he often appears confused — although some of that may only be because of a hearing problem? I'm only guessing there."
Had I first seen Axelrod's tweets, I would not have even bothered with writing the above. Instead I would have merely reposted his remarks:
Not a commentary on the content. The report is damning. That was reenforced today. He has been an exemplary public servant, as people are both sides attested, but he clearly was struggling today and that was painful.

Until today, the public assumption (on both sides) was that Mueller's testimony would be so dramatic and powerfully soundbite-able, Trump's defenders would be devastated into cowardly silence. What we got was right-wing glee.
Well, now he's testifying before the House Intelligence Committee. Let us pray.
