Reports a Detroit business publication:
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer suggested Friday that a growing rift with the White House is affecting shipments of medical supplies to Michigan amid exponential growth in confirmed coronavirus cases.
"When the federal government told us that we needed to go it ourselves, we started procuring every item we could get our hands on," Whitmer said Friday on WWJ 950AM. "What I've gotten back is that vendors with whom we had contracts are now being told not to send stuff here to Michigan."
Whitmer didn't say who has told vendors to stop sending medical supplies to the state, but strongly implied the order came from President Donald Trump's administration."
Well what a typically hyperpartisan, Democratic bitch she is. Trump has repeatedly called for a bipartisan or rather nonpartisan effort in defeating the virus' spread, which of course he had nothing to do with. And yet there she defiantly sits — and right after the president had so perfectly practiced, the night before Whitmer's radio interview, what he's been preaching all along:
"Your governor of Michigan, I mean, she's not stepping up," said Trump on Sean Hannity's television show Thursday, addressing her as merely "a woman governor," not as Gov. Whitmer. "I don't know if she knows what's going on, but all she does is sit there and blame the federal government. She doesn't get it done. And we send her a lot."
God he makes us proud. God! And as to his last point? — Trump's not God's, if there's a difference: "On Monday, Whitmer said one unnamed hospital received a shipment last weekend from the federal government of 747 N95 protective masks." The woman governor noted that "that allotment of [masks] didn't cover one shift." In Actual Reality News, unrelated to Hannity's network, "the state needs 400,000 N95 protective medical masks each day for the next several weeks to keep up with demand."
Why didn't somebody inform Mr. Trump of this? Just one word of the need and he would have been all over it like a Republican senator on a corporate bailout. After all, our president, while political as they all are, is so exceedingly noble as well, he could not care less about making a Democratic governor of a vital 2020 swing state look incompetent.
When the virus first started spreading here, people (myself included) compared Trump to the mayor from "Jaws". But that analogy no longer makes sense. At least the mayor didn't actively feed the tourists to the shark.

What a perfect way to say it. He's feeding Americans to the sharks.
What a disgusting slob he is.

I begin to think PM must be right to suggest Trump will not willingly leave office if he loses this election. You may want to check out his recent statement about wanting to be appreciated before he takes a governor’s call. Then there is the completely illegal unrecorded as required by law e-mail campaign by Kuchner et al to some end. They are communicating with someone and hiding it. And once he isn’t president I would imagine that more than one State AG will consider filing homicide charges against him, never mind the civil actions he would be open to. If this turns out to be part of his campaign even the Supreme Court would be ill advised to try and excuse it.

I don't understand Peter - what are you referring to here: "Then there is the completely illegal unrecorded as required by law e-mail campaign by Kuchner et al to some end. They are communicating with someone and hiding it."

Kuchner is now apparently in charge of the Covid crisis as well as nearly everything else. Remember the whole Hillary’s e-mail thing. All governmental communications must be recorded for posterity. This is the law. But Kuchner is not complying. They are apparently using private e-mail accounts for whatever purpose. This is something the House needs to investigate pronto.

Crain’s huh? That happens to be where Ron Fournier wound up. And he was the king of both siderism.

Ask yourself how well this strategy worked out for Chis Christie? All he did was create a giant traffic jam to teach a mayor a lesson.

It's worse than we thought. He's downright repulsive. At what point can we credibly accuse this asshole of genocide.
Posted by: Anne J | March 27, 2020 at 07:46 PM
I see. I remember now that they had caught Princess Ivanka doing such in the past.
If you had to take a wild guess, what do you think his purpose is in this time frame? (I'll go ahead and toss in one thing that I am concerned about and it won't cease until Trump's escorted on the helicopter to fly off to who the hell cares where after inauguration day. But I think they are going to brazenly try to steal another election and suspect there are secret emails to that purpose.)
But anyway, what is your guess?
Posted by: Freesia | March 27, 2020 at 08:09 PM
I don't know. But that's what's going to happen, genocide. He simply doesn't care if people die. He has no conscience.

The 'UNITED' States of America! As our Londoners are wont to say, "You're 'avin' a laugh, aint'cha?"
Judging by this blog, there is no global tragedy large enough or deadly enough to stop it being used as a party political weapon to bash opponents.
Posted by: David Duff | March 28, 2020 at 04:12 AM
But David, Trump is the one using this tragedy as a political weapon and nothing about it is "large enough or deadly enough" for him. Not acting for a weeks lest acknowledging there's a tragedy in the making mess up his re-election chances...instructing Pence not to take calls from desperate governors because they haven't been "nice" to him...refusing to get desperately needed ventilators and delaying them by haggling over the price...demanding that his signature for our treasury's money - our money- be on the stimulus checks so they look like he's personally gifted them...threatening to push people to congregate by Easter risking thousands of lives because the economy is instrumental to his re-election hopes.
What are we supposed to do? Act as though he's not doing what he does and couch our opinions in mealy mouthed observations? And as for "united", barring the Fox news disinformation campaign and some Republican Trump cronies announcing it would be better if old folks curled up and died to help the economy, the country is rather united. In fear and in trying to help each other. In spite of Trump.
Bash opponents, with words? They're threatening to kill us.

Oh I am sure this has been going on awhile. If nothing else conservatives, if you want to characterize the GOP as such, are mostly noted for their hypocrisy. I can see a few problems with such a strategy. An overt government strategy to discriminate against blue states when it comes to allocating critical supplies could not be hidden. A sub rosa program would need only a single recorded example to blow this up to endless front page news.

Hey, remember Obama.
Posted by: Peter G | March 28, 2020 at 10:34 AM
I take your point, Freesia, and it is true that politicians *from both sides* (including our host!) can rarely ever give up their politicking. It's sort of ingrained into their DNA!
Even so, it is a rather disgusting spectacle.
Posted by: David Duff | March 28, 2020 at 11:39 AM
No! Who was he?
Posted by: David Duff | March 28, 2020 at 11:39 AM
Yes but I don't see how he paid any political price for what he did.
Posted by: Anne J | March 28, 2020 at 11:52 AM
We do remember your racial epithets, child. Greatest president since Truman.
Posted by: Max | March 28, 2020 at 12:26 PM
I miss him so.
Posted by: Freesia | March 28, 2020 at 12:34 PM
We will sort of get him back.
Posted by: Max | March 28, 2020 at 12:47 PM
:-)
Posted by: Freesia | March 28, 2020 at 01:12 PM
The very worst you can accuse either our host or the vast majority of people who post here is that they have behaved exactly like you at Duff Central. What is the matter with you snowflake? Can’t take the heat?
Posted by: Peter G | March 28, 2020 at 01:51 PM
An actual quote would be useful, Max, but you do need to remember that what a deeply sensitive, caring person like you would take as a "racial epithet", is may not be how I would see it. Remember, there's nothing so divides us as our common language!
Posted by: David Duff | March 28, 2020 at 05:10 PM
I thought Duff was banned. What's the asshole doing here again?
Posted by: Pablo | March 28, 2020 at 05:53 PM
As if I'm going to repeat and dignify your epithets directed at Barack Obama, Valerie Jarrett or Elizabeth Warren (to name three, the last one getting you banned the last time), as if another word, except for the next three: Fuck off, asshole.
Posted by: Max | March 28, 2020 at 07:46 PM
If memory serves, which at my age is not a given, I think that the only remark of a racial nature I made concerning 'Obamarama' was that I, personally, didn't give a flying fig whether he was 'black, white or polka dot'!
Was Valerie Jarrett black? Really? 'Hoonoo'? Who cares?
I perpetually referred to Warren as 'Fauxcahontas' because for decades she lied and lied and lied again about her racial origins. Eventually she admitted it! So, Max, what nickname would you suggest for her?
