Good news, from Gallup.
Trump's job approval rating has dropped 7 points — to 39 percent — since the pre-election period. (Americans' approval of Joe Biden's transition endeavors is 65 percent.) Another bright spot: The president's approval rating is also down 7 points among Republicans, to 87 percent; still an astounding segment of denial, but hey, it's progress.
And though it hit 45 percent in February, Americans' satisfaction with the country's direction has plummeted to just 16 percent — what with Trump's talk of a banana-republic coup, a federally unsupervised pandemic, and a collapsing economy.
Amidst the fog of the administration's malignity and incompetence, there is light.
