The proles of TribeThink, led by unAmerican buffoons, are an almost comic example of monolithic stupidity.
Summary of recent polls of how many Republicans believe the election was stolen from Donald Trump:
— Josh Jordan (@NumbersMuncher) February 23, 2021
USA Today/Suffolk: 73%
Quinnipiac 76%
Gallup 83%
CNN 75%
Monmouth 72%
Fox News 68%
These numbers are a barrier to any unity in the country, and this was all cultivated by Trump.
It makes no difference if some unknown human segment of these idiotic judgments are ungenuine; the huddled masses are all dragged by the nose by entirely self-interested demagogues who, accordingly, could not care any less about the welfare of their true believers, or not. Blind, simple allegiance — even that of the counterfeit sort — to the absurd will suffice.
American politics has entered a new age. Negative partisanship is no longer the principal, devalued currency among nearly half of the nation's subscribers. Its time has expired. The chief exchange among Trumpeteers is now a slavish adherence to the utterly, patently preposterous — the more preposterous, the more outlandish, the more unbelievable the better. For unquestioned allegiance to the highest stupidities is the only valid, party-approved sign of one's righteousness.
Upon re-registering his party ID, Abe Lincoln, I'm rather sure, would smile the most bemused smile ever. And then he would quote from a Shakespeare tragicomedy and the Declaration of Independence — from buffoons and proles.
