I just wrote a 600-word post and lost it in the transfer from word processor to Typepad window. (That hurt.) So you'll have to live without any of my flourishes.
But, essentially what I wrote about is this: Kellyanne Conway has told the Washington Post that in the matter of Trump and 2024, "there has been a shift from intention to urgency." Most of his other advisers agree that he does, in fact, intend to run.
I noted that some readers will welcome his intent, seeing it as the Republican Party's coup de grâce. Others will fear it, given the electorate's fickleness, as demonstrated so hideously in 2016. I tend to side with this sentiment; it's just too early to say with any confidence.
Anyway, one thing is for sure. With Trump anywhere in the political picture, America's next three years will persist in deterioration. He is Milton's Satan, plotting the nation's further corruption with God-damned glee.
