As of a week or two ago, Kamala Harris' advertising budget was estimated at $37o million, some of which is already gone but more comes in every day. For her television, digital and radio budget, there already exists a perfect ad — one that could be her core campaign advertisment from now till Election Day.
What's a perfect ad, the perfect ad? The key to success is that it conveys truth, a realistic angle on the item, ideally some humor and a super-compelling, persuasive message. As noted, there's one in the can as I write; it contains every indispensable element of an enormously successful sales pitch. And it is this.
Yes, I laughed too, Kamala would say in a voice-over. The temperament and unbalanced mind of the man speaking could be those of your next president. Unless we stop him on November 5th. This is Kamala Harris, and I approved this message.
The video is 15 seconds in duration; the audio delivered at a relaxed, casual pace is also 15 seconds. If I were Vice President Harris, I'd take a few of those tens of millions of dollars in my ad budget and devote them to this one 30-second spot. It has what it takes to grab voters' attention in a truthful, quite real, humorous and yet powerfully disturbing way.
Given repeated exposure, the ad might even persuade the curious temperaments and unbalanced minds of Trump-leaning voters to at least think about not voting at all.
