From somewhere in Montana

An apology for this belated update.

Tomorrow marks one week since I departed my former Iliinois digs and headed by car for the new one in the Seattle area. My traveling companion and I had decided to take our time and see the Western sights since my vast estate, contained in 6' x 7' x 8' "pod," would not arrive in Washington until today. And yet we're still hundreds of miles away from ground zero.

That, however, fails to explain my absence from this site — and it's my absence I must apologize for, which I'll do expeditiously and with some delicacy. I've been under the weather. Almost comically we have loped our short-distance way from lodging to lodging so that I may flop my plagued body on a bed, where sleep rarely comes. New ETA: 7 March.

Foolishly did I exacerbate my condition by listening to Trump's Castro-length harangue last night, billed even more foolishly as the State of the Union. I'm not up to surveying its fantasies and lies; besides, the papers are are full of just that.

But I will add this: Worse was that throughout the hours of post-diatribe CNN analysis was that not once did any commentator mention that Trump had previously declared he's at liberty to ignore the laws of the United States. That is the state of our nation — a dictatorship.

And that seems rather relevant.
