I had hoped to say more about this latest ranking of 44 U.S. presidents and one pseudo-presidential autocrat. But no time for any expansive thoughts; time only for getting back on the road after this briefest of notations.
I still contend that FDR outranks Lincoln as "the greatest"; that Kennedy rounding out the top 10 is a bizarre miscalculation, along with Truman sitting a No. 6; that J.Q. Adams deserves more credit — for at least trying; that James K. Polk, love him or hate him, deserves far more credit for doing far more than trying; that George W. Bush should be somewhere below Harding; and, as hinted in the opening, that Donald J. Trump should be excluded from presidential rankings altogether, as should any future sociopathic mobster with psychotic leanings.

This survey was conducted 15 Nov. through 31 Dec. among members of the Presidents & Executive Politics Section of the American Political Science Association, which bills itself as "the foremost organization of social science experts in presidential politics."

Why does Bush the Lesser rank above Nixon?
Jimmy getting a solid post-mortem bump I get, but what’s all the hate for Silent Cal?
