Trump's nonmilitary Hitlerism - and the majority silence of American commentators

At last week's G7 meeting of finance ministers, the U.S. opposed labeling — tepidly — Putin's invasion of Ukraine as "illegal." Three months ago, Trump, then a newly inducted member of the small but exclusive Menckenesque club, the Grand Pishposh of Despotic Fellows United Against Western Values, commanded America's U.N. Ambassador Joe von Ribbentrop to join monstrously pathological North Korea in opposing the General Assembly's joint statement condemning Russia's savagery in Ukraine. And since Dictatorial Day One, Trump has unconstitutionally withheld nearly $4 billion of congressionally authorized military aid for President Zelensky's bloodied Eastern European nation, known in 1939 as "Poland."

The pattern is a familiar one, several outside experts and former government officials said. Mr. Trump signals he is pulling back from a conflict he often describes as Europe’s war, then expresses shock that Mr. Putin responds with a familiar list of demands that amount to a Ukrainian surrender, followed by accelerating attacks. Mr. Trump episodically insists he is "absolutely" considering sanctions, including on Sunday.

Sanctions my ass. Ukraine needs more air defense systems and U.S. troops on the ground killing Russians.

Throughout the past week Putin ordered 1,390 drone and 94 missile attacks across Ukraine, the heaviest bombardment of its cities since the war's beginning. He targeted mostly civilian areas, including university dormitories. And prior to this most recent blitzkrieg from the air (as of Monday) the Kremlin's homicidal fascist landed flying explosives on "crowded playgrounds," for Christ's sake. On terra firma, Vlad the Butcher is pressing his outsized manpower superiority against eastern Donetsk's key strategic region situated between the Ukrainian cities of Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka. "If the past is any guide," say military analysts, "that will mean months of bloody battles like those that reduced [the cities of] Mariupol, Bakhmut, and Avdiivka to ashes."

And yet the indifferent imbecile occupying the office in which once sat leaders of the free world has refused to impose even the embarrassing minimum of further sanctions on Russia. In what can only be the sickest joke ever told by America's commanding boob in chief, CNN reports that he "has said privately he is concerned new sanctions could push Russia away from peace talks." Peace talks. These would be those utter shams perpetrated previously by a Russian delegation that defined successful negotiations in the pursuit of bilateral harmony as Ukraine's willingness to be raped.

Adding even more cretinous incongruity to his impossible fantasy of Putin engaging rather than pushing away from peace, Trump simultaneously writes, "I’ve always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it." Dismissing for the moment that the Russian autocrat's territorial avarice has been known to virtually the entire fucking cosmos since well before his unspeakable brutalities commenced, nearly inconceivable is that a human brain, even one as infinitesimal as Trump's, could be "concerned" that Visagoth Vladimir might reject reasonable peace talks while unmistakably seeking the military devastation and wholesale domination of Ukraine.

What's more, if Putin insists on advancing his overt objective, continues Trump in deep geopolitical thought, it "will lead to the downfall of" — war-blameless Ukraine, right? No, please re-consult reference to "infinitesimal." Said downfall will be incurred by "Russia!" says Trump. And there he does not stop. The satanic-strongman-admiring, hopeful-Trump-Tower-in-Moscow-erecting and perhaps Grandest PishPosh Despot of them all opines that the invaded country's democratically elected president should quit "talking the way he does." That would be Zelensky's somewhat understandable vocal objections to Putin's accelerating murder of Ukrainian women and children, among other atrocities. Objections, mind you, as "the U.S. is slowly starving Ukraine of vital aid," as professor of strategic studies Phillips O'Brien put it of late. And make no mistake, he added, Trump's starvation "is very much understood and acted on by the Russians." (Emphasis mine.)

The effective outcome long-term, Western Europe terrorized by a time-refreshed hegemon to the East. And free rein for the Far East's imperial power.

In this post I have characteristically employed language tying Donald Trump and his Ukraine policy, as it were, to the most profound unAmericanism imaginable: multicolored shades of Adolf Hitler. Most public commentators of note persist in rebelling against such usage, notwithstanding the vivid transmogrification of the United States under Trump's tyrannical stewardship into a post-Weimar Republic. In foreign affairs, Putin is his Mussolini in the absence of American intervention, and here we needn't survey yet again Trump's discontinuation of the rule of law. Global carnage shall come from his overthrow of the U.S.-led postwar international order, and domestically, God help us.

To those silent commentators I say: You are either blind, stupid, or cowardly.
